My BMW BROKE DOWN! Stranded for 5 hours!
30👋 In todays video its time to talk about our 2022 BMW X5 xDrive45e and what our ownership experience has been like over the last 6 months. To start off, this has been my wifes dream SUV since she was a kid! Her dad works for BMW and so they always had BMW's growing up and this was her favorite! It also happens to be a favorite of mine, so that worked out well!
In our search for a BMW, I knew that it had to have the towing package. That was one aspect because I couldn't justify buying an SUV that could tow, and have no hitch so that was a must along with the list she had of the creature comforts! We found this hybrid BMW and neither of us had ever owned a plug in hybrid. So we figured, lets try it and see how it goes. The more that we are driving this BMW X5, the more that we do like it! As far as the hybrid technology goes. I do like the technology and what it has to offer, but would be perfectly fine with a regular gasoline version for the next time around, unless the hybrid technology because much better. For now, we don't have any regrets with trying the hybrid and it's been a great SUV so far!
There are a lot of features and daily driving characteristic to love about this SUV, and only a few minor things that we don't like, but not enough to not want to own this BMW!
So over the last six months, this SUV has been great!
The one minor setback was a recent software upgrade for the car. I explained all of that in great details in the video, but to sum up. A lot of newer vehicles are coming with more technology and more computers and ECU's, which makes the vehicles a lot more complicated and gives it more problems or issues that could arise. One of those being a simple software upgrade that turned the BMW X5 into a brick. It was very odd to me, that none of the electronics worked and there was no way to override this system in the parking lot. Definitely something that should not have happened and luckily this was all covered under warranty! So definitely have a warranty with any BMW you purchase because that will give you peace of mind, even though this was a huge inconvenience, it didn't make us not want to own the car. So aside from that blunder, it's been great and an SUV I still highly recommend. You just have to be ok with something possibly going wrong, but the warranty will save you on repairs and you'll be able to have a sweet luxury SUV!
