A Japanese exclusive on both the Playstation and Saturn, this beat'em up flew under the radar of many at the start of the 32-bit generation.

Episode Notes:

1. PS and Saturn versions captured on real hardware.

2. This game has gotten expensive in recent years. Complete Saturn versions are now nearing $200. Playstation is cheaper at around $100. For reference, I purchased mine in 2001, for a mere $20.

3. Playing this brought back old feelings of resentment that the Saturn never got its own Streets of Rage. Sega completely abandoned what had made the Genesis special, including most of its top IP's.

4. The last boss is a straight rip off of Mr X from Streets of Rage. I mean outside of the art style, it's a direct copy.

5. I noticed a lot more slowdown in the 2 player mode. Not game breaking, but enough to really wonder if Tecnosoft had lost its touch.

6. I found most of the beat'em ups during the 32-bit era to be sorely lacking. Batman Forever, Fighting Force, and many others just felt terrible to me. Guardian Heroes was a rare bright spot during that generation.
