Unconverted Neopets, often referred to as UCs, are Neopets that retain their original artwork from before the site's major art overhaul in 2007. These pets have a unique charm and rarity since they do not conform to the standardized poses designed for the newer customization features.
Neopets recently introduced Nostalgic Pet Styles, allowing players to recapture the classic look of their pets. This feature is accessible via the Styling Studio in the NC Mall, where players can purchase Styling Studio Supplies to transform their pets into popular old styles.
From Jellyneo's explanation of pet styles:
"On January 23, 2024, Umbra opened up their Styling Studio to allow Neopians to change the appearance of their Neopets with Pet Styles, a way of altering the look and pose of your Neopet. At their studio you can obtain additional styles—you'll need one of Umbra's supplies and the corresponding pet species desired to get started.
To change your pet's style, you'll need to visit the Styling Chamber.
Pet Styles replaced Unconverted (UC) Neopets. All Neopets that were still in an Unconverted form at the time of release were automatically converted, and awarded the corresponding Nostalgic Style item (colloquially known as a "token".)"
