Nether - Survival MMO - Game Spotlight [Early Access]
50With the recent update giving players double the size of the map to roam I thought no time would be better to go back and check out what Nether has to offer. Boy was I in for a ride! Dealing with a chaotic community, questionable deaths, and bad spawn placements this left me second-guessing if I should even upload this video. But this is a FIRST IMPRESSION series and I wouldn't feel right keeping you away from the issues I witnessed. Let's keep in mind Nether is still an Early Access title and is progressively being update. But let's also acknowledge this game has been purchasable since Oct of 2013! I personally would suggest you stay away from this title for the time being.
What bothers me so much is what made this game fun for me was the instant gratification it gave to the players. If you are a consumer of survival games you know generally to have a good time you need a whole night to sit down and play the game, things do not happen quickly in survival games. That's what made Nether different; it wasn't rare for me to go through 3-4 lives in an hour of gameplay and that means action. Now they seem to be going away from this instant action almost fps-like gameplay and going more towards long-term survival. With updates like gun crafting and getting rid of weapon spawns it leaves a very stale taste in my mouth personally. If I wanted long drawn-out game sesh's I would game play Rust or DayZ...
