NHL 12 Gamespeed
First off, this is something that has bugged me for quite a while. I decided to test the gamespeed once again this year and it's still way too slow compared to real life.
For example Michael Grabner in real life can skate around the ice in 14 seconds flat. While in the game he takes 16.3 seconds. (Perhaps 16.0 on a perfect run.) This is really, really slow compared to his real life times. I personally think this is the most overlooked problem with the game the skating. You can stop on a dime, there is no sense of gaining speed and players are all sooooo slow.
Something else of note is it takes a player like Grabner 1.4 seconds to skate blueline to blueline at top speed, yet in game it takes 2 full seconds. (Which may not seem like a lot, but it really is a massive difference.)
I personally find that because the game is so slow it feels more like a street hockey game on shoes compared to hockey. What do you think?
