I like to think they are paid to defend Nintendo.
Nintendo fans are the Apple fans of the console world.
For weak hardware, you can't really give an excuse for software If 3rd parties suffer. Let's be honest, the only reason to buy Nintendo is for Nintendo and their games, which they don't really give you what you pay for.
Learn to accept criticism so that their products can improve, and you get a better experience. Vote with your wallets.
If you are so worried about privacy, then follow Valve/Gabe Newell's philosophy of "it's a service problem".
You don't have to pirate to emulate, you can simply dump your games or give alternatives to buy roms from that company If they cared enough about you. Nintendo doesn't.
This goes for all other corps, Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, EA, etc.
Why do you think the games industry is in shambles when you take away basic consumer rights for owning a game?
