Una actualización importante del sistema ahora está disponible para Switch. Nintendo acaba de lanzar la versión 4.0.0, además de una actualización también para los Joy Con, de la cual aún no se sabe a ciencia cierta cual será su función, pero puede ser desde una mejora en la sincronización hasta solucionar algunos problemas de interrupciones de conexión o utuilizarlos en dispositivos móviles. Entre lo que se agregó en la versión 4.0.0, los usuarios de Switch pueden capturar vídeo para “juegos seleccionados”. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS y Splatoon 2 son compatibles actualmente, y Super Mario Odyssey lo será nada más salir. También es posible capturar hasta 30 segundos de juego y según Kotaku, Nintendo ha confirmado que en un futuro el tiempo podría ampliarse a 1,3 y 5 minutos, dando soporte también a más títulos tanto propios como de Third Parties. También se ha confirmado con esta nueva version 4.0.0 que los cascos inalambricos serán compatibles.
