I've been waiting for this since February 2012, right after Kiwisauce was introduced to the Touhou shmups for the first time! Back then he was so sure he'd release the game that summer. Better 2 years late than never, haha!

Even though it's a beta the game is pretty much done except for one scenario's hardest difficulty and a few extras. (as far as I'm aware at least)

The game is completely free (though *spoiler* I've heard Kiwisauce is also planning on having it included in a Humble Bundle at some point) and you can get it at Kiwisauce's blog, though currently it is windows only (that will soon change I imagine):

Be sure to check that site every so often for the official release! (and apparently DLC at some point?)

Which reminds me, this game is going to be (if not already, I haven't looked into it yet) well equipped to create your own shmups within the engine. I remember back in one of the alpha builds he had a whole scripting language set up for ease of creation and I made a few things so... I'm looking forward to it!
