I would just like to go ahead and note that the game autosaves your current file and then kicks it back to Scene 01 with the Scene and Gag percentages intact after it gives you the "mission failed" message.

The landmark counter remains intact as well, but if you managed to press all the booby trap switches, it will reset back to 30. Naturally, this also means the switches themselves get reset to where you could press them again.

Unlike the Sega CD version, the PS2 version gives you a save prompt instead of autosaving the current file.
