Paradox Error (Xbox Series X) (Achievement Update - 4000 GS) Jump Around
My next video will consist of an updated achievement guide for the indie game Paradox Error! This game released on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles on June 9th, 2021. It was developed by Nerd Games along with Eastasiasoft Limited and published by Eastasiasoft Limited.
In this video, I play through the game and show you how to unlock all of the achievements from the last three (3) title updates, which updated the game's GS to 4,000.
Paradox Error is an indie, 2D puzzle-platformer that has a strange premise. The game plays like any other platformer, however, this one has a twist: it essentially simulates bugs/glitches that the player has to either overcome or use to their advantage to beat some of the levels. For example, the "New Game" button becomes a moving platform that the player has to use to get to the end of the level or the game reverses the controls during a whole level. The game does this intentionally in order to keep the player on their toes, but also to test their skills by having the player figure out which portions of the screen can be reached, which pixels can be touched and which part of the screen is simply background art.
With regards to the story, there really isn't much here other than it revolving around a developer that accidentally created a self-conscious computer that is trying to prevent you from progressing through the levels and creating the glitches/obstacles in your way.. The controls here are very simple: move left and right with the left stick and jump with the A button. The puzzle elements come into play in the form of the glitches themselves since the player has to always figure out how to use the environment/glitches to progress through any given level.
As far as the achievements are concerned: Paradox Error includes a total of 12 achievements in the base game with another 15 achievements that were added with the various title updates (3 title updates in total at the time of this writing with 5 achievements added within each title update) for a current total of 4000 GS. The achievements in the base game (1000 GS) consist of completing tasks such as finishing up to level three (3), dying a total of 18 times, jumping a total of 100 times and completing specific actions within each of the first three levels (which are all covered in my first achievement guide for this game: https://youtu.be/qg4m3-FzWos). The achievements in the title updates all require you to do more jumping and dying: a total of 85 deaths and a total of 300 jumps. With that being said, this is yet another easy completion that shouldn't take you more than 30 to 45 minutes to collect all 4000 of the currently available GamerScore.
