Episode 6: Phillips CD-i

The Phillips CD-i is barely a game console at all, but it can still boast that it has games featuring iconic Nintendo characters. Unfortunately, these games are nothing you would ever want to actually play. After Nintendo backed out of a deal with Sony to create a "Nintendo Playstation" that would use both cartridges and discs, it made a deal with Phillips to create a CD add-on for the Super Famicom. This deal also went nowhere, but it led to several Nintendo characters ending up in truly horrible titles on the Phillips CD-i.
