PICO 4 HONEST REVIEW // Not QUITE the QUEST 2 KILLER?
670PICO 4 or Quest 2, that is the question, some have dubbed the PICO 4 a "Quest 2 KILLER" but how true is that statement, is this really the end of Meta's reign in the standalone VR market? This is my full PICO 4 review / PICO Neo 4 review, I've spent just over two weeks with this new VR headset now and I have a tonne of feelings about it, it's a fantastic VR headset that shows a new headset manufacturer dedicated to creating something new and exciting in the standalone market but they haven't quite nailed everything YET... Colour passthrough, lightning fast game loading, a wider and taller FOV, higher resolution and easier sideloading making the PICO 4 stand out on paper but in practice it's not that simple, there is a sunk cost fallacy, some software limitations and Meta's exclusive experiences to take into account. Is the PICO 4 better than Quest 2? That depends what you're looking for and whether or not you already own one of Meta's incredibly popular headsets, for new users the PICO 4 should be seriously considered but it's not quite a Quest 2 killer at this point in time...
