Battlestar Galactica is a science fiction franchise that takes place in the distant parts of the Universe. A human civilization has settled in what became known as the Twelve Colonies and have faced extinction from an ongoing war with the Cylons, a cybernetic race whose goal is the extermination of the human species.
The Battlestar Galactica is the lone surviving battleship during this ongoing war and its mission is to find the fabled thirteenth colony known as Earth.
