It seems like team Xbox is very committed to backwards compatibility. So much so that they even allow you to play non Xbox titles on the Xbox Series X and S consoles. With a small exploit and a bit of technical know how, you can use your Series console to emulate all the games from the older consoles up till the PlayStation 2. Making the the Series S and X a powerhouse home console capable of playing Atari, Sega, Nintendo, Game Boy, PlayStation, and others with the use the Xbox's Developer Mode setting and a UWP version of the all-in-one emulator program: RetroArch! If you've ever wanted to play all the games on one machine, on your 4K TV, sitting on your coach or bed, this is how you'd do it!
In this video, I will show you how to install RetroArch on your Xbox Series X or S in order to emulate older video games. I'll go over: what you'll need, the set up process, and general advice for the set up process. I tried to make it as clear and concise as possible, so it'd only take first time users 30 to 40 minutes to get everything in order. With this guide, you'll be playing Nintendo 64 games on your Xbox in no time!
