Godfall is an action role-playing video game developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. The game was released for PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows in November 2020; was the first game confirmed for release on PlayStation 5. It was also released for PlayStation 4 in August 2021.
The game takes place in a high fantasy setting, divided into the realms of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Spirit, where players assume the role of one of the last Exalted Order of Knights to prevent a major apocalyptic event. The player will have three main character classes to choose from, based on which armor sets, Valor Plates, they equip. Additional Valor and Enhancement Plates can be equipped to customize the performance of that character class.
It supports one player and up to three players in cooperative "drop-in drop-out" mode. The game is described as a "looter-slasher" as, based on the loot shooter concept of completing missions and gaining better loot for new missions, the focus of combat is on melee attacks, not ranged attacks.
