The Long Dark is a simulation of survival, which we observe the action from a first person perspective. The plot tells the story of pilot William Mackenzie, a survivor from the geomagnetic storm, after which all electronic devices broke down. Access to food and water is becoming increasingly difficult, the roads are no longer safe, and if all this were not enough, there comes a severe winter. The aim of the player is to survive the apocalypse as long as you can.
