So I'm reviving this project after like, 8 years. No big deal!
With music production, including the remasters I've done in the past, I've always been big on NOT forcing myself to do anything unless I feel adequately inspired or motivated. Basically, only doing it when I want, not because I feel I have to.
I happened to open up FL Studio the other day, opened up a MIDI, one thing led to another, and I found myself really enjoying the process of tweaking and tinkering to make it sound as good as I could. And here we are!
On this note, I do have to add some disclaimers here. Please don't have the expectation that I will finish this project; as a matter of fact I actually have NO INTENTION of truly finishing PMD2RMP the way I originally intended (which was to remaster every single song in the game). I'll be doing these on an "if-and-when-I-want-to" basis, and will be picking and choosing tracks to do, rather than going off the original track order I had.
I won't be taking requests...but I won't stop you from suggesting tracks to do :) Just as long as the expectation doesn't exist that I'll do it just because it was suggested.
Anyway.
Ahem...
It is my pleasure to **continue** the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 Remastering Project, an undertaking of mine dedicated to bringing one of my all-time favorite video game soundtracks to a new life. It is my belief that this music--composed by Arata Iiyoshi, Hideki Sakamoto, Keisuke Ito, Ryoma Nakamura and Ken-ichi Saito--deserves to be listened to and enjoyed by more than just the people who play, or have played, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. It is a truly beautiful and widely appreciated collection of music, however with a limited potential due to the confines by which it is bound: a Nintendo DS cartridge. My goal for this project is to bring each track in the game to life by means of remastering, and in some cases reorchestrating, to the best of my ability, while at the same time preserving the natural charm that lies within them.
