Erika is probably the easiest Kanto Gym Leader. Grass-types just are a bit too average in offense and defense. Grass hits super effective on 3 types, which is pretty good, but it's weak against 5 types which is very bad. It's even more weakness types than Ice, while that's technically the worst type defensively (probably because Ice resists only 1 type and Grass resists 4)
