The BFBC2 Rush Mode maps were designed from start to finish to have a certain type of gameplay occur. The map design was to have distance between the attacker spawn and the defender's area.

While playing as an attacker it may seem at times like you are having to walk a far distance on some maps, but what is happening is the map design keeps the defenders in the defenders spawn area. (Camping in the defender spawn) This is by design and leads to a type of gameplay that requires the attackers to overwhelm the defenders, and for the defenders to cluster in the defense (M-Com areas) and stick together to win. Going rouge and attemping to hide are both hard to do sort of thing.
