QL | Somerville (2022) From one of the makers that made Limbo and Inside
1So one guy jumped ship from Playdead , and created a new studio to make his own thing... hence the studio name ... guess in the original studio the team got EGOasholeWoke , and that Devnuo fallout got to them ... for those that don't get it ... Inside , was the new Horror platformer pushed on every thing ... on PC it got Devnuo DRM ... let that sink in , a Indie game added a $25K DRM Devnuo that hammers your SSD to bits and it volatile what it does to your OS ... and later it pushed the game on GOG with no DRM ... the fallout was big from the common folk ...
and now we know who was sane enough to leave the studio ... to not get EGOasholeWoke ... Welcome to SomerVille , a 1:1 copy of Inside ... but this time build on the "War of the Worlds" theme ... is it good , ehm ending tells you all (you miss 30min of the game , since its 3h blind , 2h-ish if you know what to do)... one is Bad , One is Awfully BAD ... the third GOOD ending is cryptic as fuck , since to get it you have to go AROUND THE CHAPTER MAPS AND NOTE WHAT DO THOSE CUBE ALIENS BLINK TO YOU ... and at the end , you have to repeat those color codes back .. :/ wait,WHAT??!!
If you ever wonder why those aliens are trapped in those hard to reach locations ... now you know
So the ending it wacked , so how is the game ... Derpy cluelessness all the time , with lots amount of script errors ... like you see at the first 20 min here , when one script failed and we had to restart the chapter to fix this softlock... and it happened 4 times ... so yeah , guess it will be patched later ... but yeah , nice visuals , nice sounds that make you feel your there , since they knew how sounds can create great atmosphere ... but maps are boring and dragged on , it missed this "Another World" vibe ... and well the things you can interact are awfully marked ...
so yeah ... meh game ... that kinda is good ... a +\- game ... a B-Game ... you play and forget it existed ... 1 month later ... ouch
