Quests and Weather System!- Medieval RPG - indie devlog #2
WISHLIST IT NOW ON STEAM: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2615480/Aboleo_Shadow_of_the_Crown/
Hello everyone, welcome to my latest video where I will be starting something completely new! I recently got into game developing in the unity engine and coding with C#! I'm not really good at it as I am fairly new to it but I think I made enough progress for my first official devlog video. Just so update you and show you that I am indeed alive and doing pretty well!
This project started 15.5.2023. and I must say that I devoted a good chunk of my everyday to this project because I am really enjoying it.
The game (currently no official name), is set to a medieval theme and it is about a man who is trying to defend his kingdom with not many people on his side, as the kingdom was overrun with bad people.
This is the second devlog of this amazing journey! It may not be as exciting as the first one (because less work went into combat) but for me it was the most scary part of making an rpg, making a huge map was always scary to me because the hardest part is to fill it up with things and not to be boring. I am a long way from filling the whole map as I did only about 5% of it but I'll get there, the most important part is to be patient and not to rush because only then it won't look good and it won't be enjoyable. So I'll really take my time with the map because what is an RPG with a bad map? For me that's the core point of an RPG and the most memorable part..
Obviously, the game is still far, far, far from being finished or even close to the alpha stage, but I wanted to start devlog because I want some fair critisism and positives so I know that I am on the right track.
The game is planned on being firstly released on Steam, but it is not on Steam pages yet and it wont be for some time, until I figure things out. Of course I wont talk about the release date because it's not really a game yet, as there is no story or much content, there are just mechanics that I implemented, and most of them needs some tweaks and changes, but that is fairly easy to fix.
I really hope that these devlog will come regularly, at least once every 2 months, because I have so many ideas and things to do so I don't think there will be a problem with that.
I really hope you like what you are seeing and that you like how the game looks. It is a low-poly style game and I understand that it may not be for everyone but I personally think that this style is not muched used and is perfect for an old-school hardcore RPG that I am making. Of course, do tell if you think otherwise.
Lastly, if you like this video, be sure to leave me a like and share this video with your friends, subscribe to the channel so that you are notified when the next devlog is up. Please do comment down below any ideas for the game because you might actually give me some ideas that I will implement I like them. (so you could be my co-developer :P)
