Railroader On The STEAM DECK. How does it run? How playable is it? U.S railway sim
Today we're playing Railroader on the Steam Deck.
The game's set on a map heavily based on a real life Southern Railway's Murphy Branch in western North Carolina USA. It's set around the 1940's-1950's in a transitional period between steam and diesel.
The game has 2 modes campaign and sandbox. In sandbox you can spawn in locos and consists and enjoy driving about. In campaign you run the railroad doing everything from business to driving the trains.
In campaign mode the game starts out with a tutorial on how to play showing you the basics and will slowly give you the reigns to carry on by yourself.
In the video we are playing on the SteamDeck using my controller profile. I've (hopefully) shared this and you should be able to download it.
To find and use the controller profile on the game page where the play button is click on the joypad button to the right. At the top it will say what profile you're using. It'll likely be mouse + keyboard. Click on this either using touch or your dpad and a button.
Now go to community layouts. If all is well you'll see mine there however if not head to the search button and search for "bluewizard" and hopefully it'll show. Now press the X button to apply the layout.
I have made as many notes as I can on the control profile itself but in-case you need them here is the layout.

Use Y button to toggle action sets.

Where possible the buttons will work as the default set with these differences.

If the profile doesn't show for you let me know and I will try to share it again. If I've missed anything on the profile also do let me know.
