RE: Outbreak is a game that in its journey to be unique was so poorly planned out that it ended up falling down an entire staircase. The game is plagued by strange gameplay designs in an effort to put a multiplayer-focused game on the PS2 and a non-committed story composed of five barely connected vignettes where a gaggle of boring people compete to see who can win the Award for Dullest Bastard before the save system can kill them.

It's a game that tried to do a lot of new things and couldn't really make the most of its innovations.
