Katamari Damacy is a 2004 action puzzle game developed and published by Namco for the Sony PlayStation 2. You roll a ball around called a 'Katamari', and you attach objects to it in order to grow it in size, with the requirement being that you get it to a particular size within the time limit.
Although the game didn't sell amazingly - selling less than Namco really desired - its reception was good enough to warrant more games in the series, the core gameplay mechanics remaining mostly unchanged but with new settings and features.
All that said, how much did it tap into the Japanese culture? Why is the King of All Cosmos an absolute madlad? And - ultimately - is it worth importing?
