Un año más, se apróxima la cada vez más relevante gala "The Games of the Year" (GOTY), que este año se celebrará el 7 de diciembre y donde juegos como Zelda Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Down, Super Mario Odyssey y Persona 5 se batiran por hacerse con el premio, pero Players Unknown Batlleground cierra la lista, creando el desconcierto como ya pasó en los GOTgAMY 2016 donde Blizzard se alzó con el premio con Overwatch y Uncharded 4 se quedó a las puertas, haciendo por ello para muchos usuarios que esta gala año trás año tenga menos credibilidad y veracidad, dando quizás más relevancia a las ventas y visibilidad que a la calidad de los títulos en si.
