In 1993 Konami released one of its few truly exclusive games for the Sega Genesis. We take a look at Rocket Knight Adventures.

Episode Notes:

1. Captured via the Mega SG.

2. I'm not familiar with the PAL version of this game. I believe it has the same changes as the US version in regards to the opening cinema and stage introductions. I'm unsure about the difficulty settings.

3. I used a bit of the trailer from the 2010 release.

4. The gameplay of Sparkster on the Genesis is really good. Maybe better than the first here. I just wish it looked better.

5. The last stage irritated me beyond belief while capturing. I got to it 3 times and lost my lives each time. I did beat it finally, but man is that last set of fights frustrating.

6. I always felt this was the result of splicing the DNA of Contra, Castlevania, and Gradius.

7. Konami should do a Rocket Knight Collection for modern machines with all the games in it. The two Genesis releases, the SNES version and the 2010 2.5D edition. I'd buy it day 1.

8. This ranks pretty high among my favorite Konami games. Top 10 even.
