ROME 2 RISE OF THE REPUBLIC REBORN: DEI NEW MOD REVIEW! - Total War Mod Spotlights
1,070Total War Rome 2 has some killer DLC campaigns that if you haven’t played yet I cannot recommend enough. Hannibal at the Gates & Caesar in Gaul are both brilliantly balanced narrative campaigns centred around two of the greatest military strategists in history. Imperator Augustus, Empire Divided both excellent DLCs for some heavy Roman Civil War and while I’m not a huge fan of Wrath of Sparta there are some really nice mods out that do turn it into a special little campaign.
The most underrated DLC though and one of my favourites across the whole series is Rise of the Republic, a campaign about the glorious beginnings of Roman conquest and specifically dominance over the Italian peninsula. Fight against ancient enemies like the Samnites or the Etruscans or against new invaders like the celts of the North or even Carthage, all over a beautiful campaign map that reminds me a bit of Shogun in all honesty.
And best of all guys released just a couple of days ago the brilliant developers of Divide Et Impera after years of work have finally released an initial version of their Rise of the Republic campaign with brand new updated rosters for Rome and for the playable Etruscan faction the Tarchuna. New units, new flavour there’s so much to talk about!
