Sean Plays Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (NES)
It was the first and best on the NES, but it was not the very first version of Punch-Out!!
Originally released in arcades as a dual-monitor game, the home conversion of Punch-Out!! did more than bring its cast of colorful fighters to the Nintendo Entertainment System -- it created Little Mac, and built a story around his unlikely rise to take on Mike Tyson!
There have been many follow-ups since then, such as the Super NES Punch-Out!!, and not one but TWO versions for the Wii, including the downloadable-only Doc Louis' Punch-Out!! But we'll save those for another time.
As for different versions on the NES? So, ah, ol' Mike has had some... trouble, shall we say... since the original version of Punch-Out!! was released, and subsequent versions ousted him for Mr. Dream. (Or maybe it was as simple as the license expiring? Who knows.) So while that is the version that is completely unique to Nintendo, and available on other platforms, we're going to stick with the first one, because who doesn't want to fight Mike Tyson?
