This game is the third of three instalments of the Sims Stories, story-based adaptations of The Sims. As well as using music from The Sims 2 Castaway console game, similar story elements apply. However the narrative and general gameplay are different. Castaway Stories has more of a story narrative while the Sims 2 Castaway has general progressive gameplay.
If this game looks familiar graphically, that is because it uses The Sims 2's game engine as a base for the game. The game engine has been modified to allow for playability on low end computer hardware such as laptops without issue.
