Silent Hill: The Arcade Game is a Konami created arcade game that was released in the previous decade. However, the arcade we played at today would have us believe it was just new from Japan. Hmmmm. At any rate, it's been around for some time and reminded us of House Of The Dead Gameplay, but not NEARLY as good. We kind of can't wrap our brain around this game. What was the single only aspect of the gameplay that we liked about this Silent Hill: The Arcade Game? How long we were able to play for each credit swipe. I know, technically speaking, that really doesn't have much to do at all with the actual gameplay, storyline, graphics, size of the screen, etc etc. So yeah, if it were not for the long duration of time we were given to play for each swipe of our Gaming Center Play Card, we would have bailed on this game immediately. The only reason we played it was 2 guys were playing it and yelling their heads off with excitement. We really couldn't see the screen and gameplay because there are intentionally tattered curtains around it blocking the screen. The sound was abysmal and the screen resolution just as poor. We have no idea why this high-end gaming center keeps this machine other than the fact that they house almost no other true horror arcade games. Thumbs up for lengthy gameplay. Thumbs down for pretty much the game overall. You want a Horror type Rail Shooter Arcade Game? Play Dark Escape 4D. Just the booth alone makes it worth the price of admission.
