The "Too Long, Didn't Watch" Review:
Excellent stuff here. Combines elements of Rogue-Like and Survival Horror extremely well.
4.5/5 worth $15
The "Meat & Potatoes" Review:
What can I say about SkyHill to make you go buy it? It's survival horror, what with the crafting and monsters and surviving. It's an awesomely laid out rogue-like, heading down these flowers is fun and scary! No, no "jump scares" or anything. Just dreading what's around the next corner because you are always teetering on the edge of, well, NON-survival. The art style is superb and the audio fits well (but can get annoying with the battles and such). THe gameplay is top-notch, with the combat system being a big success for me. I really dig this combat system quite a bit. Risk/reward was a solid way to go, especially for a game like this. This is just a top-of-the-line PC game. A shining example of why indie games truly own the scene right now. Go enjoy some SkyHill. You don't even need to be a horror fan to like this game. A true gem. Only the repetitive sound effects really keep this from being a truly perfect game. I'm going 4.5/5 here. Well worth your $15, and if you manage to nab it on sale, good on you.
Happy Gaming!!!
