19“The legacy of the crystals have shaped our history for long enough”
Final Fantasy 16 is the latest installment in the legendary JRPG series. It takes place in the realm of Valisthea, a land that has been plagued by the blight which has forced kingdoms to fight over a finite amount of untainted resources. Primarily over the Mother Crystals, which are the source of the land's magic, and the Dominants, who are humans that act as hosts for god-like entities called Eikons. After witnessing the devastation of his kingdoms, Clive Rosfield joins up with Cid and his band of outcasts as they set their sights on destroying the Mother Crystals, while also uncovering the dark truth that lies at the heart of their world.
As Final Fantasy 16 managed to take on a more mature storyline, along with moving towards a more action-focused combat system, it remains a very controversial entry in the series. And with the large amount of “civil” discourse over this game still brewing, I had the great idea to share my thoughts and feelings about the game. Hope you enjoy and thank you so much for watching!
