Original hard mode changes a few things about this mission quite noticeably. On classic scripting, the enemy mammies will protect the village if you attack it, buying you time to take out a guard tower and get in, but on original hard mode the guard towers are made of titanium so you actually don't have enough time for that. But this is a blessing in disguise; I found that going through the backdoor is the better, quicker way.

Also, on original hard mode the enemy has longer range than usual, so your early power plant and Hand of Nod get fired at. And doing a 'normal' playthrough (moving your MCV out of the enemy base and establishing a new base) isn't possible because the mammies get triggered the moment you deploy your MCV outside.

Doing this mission was actually quite annoying, especially at the early part, so after I hit the 9-minute mark I quit trying to optimise it.
