quick explanation for anyone unfamilar with Spelunky Classic: this run requires you to beat the game without items, kills, or picking up gold. You also have to visit the City of Gold, so you gotta do the quest chain to unlock that area (which adds extra difficulty). As of this video being posted, this is the hardest Spelunky Classic challenge run to ever be completed.
I lost SO many runs right at the end. Some to bad RNG, some to misplays, and sometimes I was just straight up robbed... Shoutouts to the time a pot clipped into the ground near the CoG exit & killed the spider that was in it (that ended up being literally the only rule violation in the whole run).
On that note... Honestly, this is a pretty atrocious category. Spelunky Classic pacifist runs are highly flawed due to the player being blamed for so many things that clearly weren't their fault. Most extremely difficult challenge runs are pacifist though, so it's unavoidable if you wanna break new ground.
Despite everything, though, this category is genuinely fun if you get an operable seed. Even Olmec feels doable nowadays with the new strat I discovered (pre dig the bottom 3 or 4 layers, and THEN trigger the stomps). And of course, I'm very happy to finally clear it... at long last! :D
