Just Pat today, filling in for Jesse's usual Elden Ring streams with another punishing game of a different kind: Lisa the Painful. An Earthbound-inspired indie game from 2014, a definitive edition was recently released with new content, and it's also very good. The game follows Brad, a traumatized drug addict in a dystopian future trying to get his daughter back from marauders. It is hard as nails and frequently forces the player to make rough choices. Trigger warning for every kind of trauma imaginable. This is a very dark game. Very funny, weirdly beautiful, but still at times VERY upsetting.
