In this video I’ll be looking at Stronghold HD, a game described by its makers as the original castle sim. Stronghold still looks good, especially in terms of the stone buildings and the fortress walls. And I can easily see how great is must have looked when it was initially released 18 years ago, back in 2001. Stronghold HD is a hard game to love nowadays, especially if you don’t already have a relationship with the series. Which I didn’t, because I’ve never gotten around to playing any of the Stronghold titles when they were initially launched.
