A video of me rushing through Subterranean Animism Extra Stage, the 11th installment of the Touhou Project, a series of danmaku shooters. Danmaku is a term that can be translated into "bullet hell", depicting how bullet density prevails over enemy density. However, only the fact that there are thousand of bullets is hellish. The bullets themselves form beautiful patterns that cannot be called hellish at all.

The back story of the extra stage in SA is as follow: After Reimu/Marisa went down to the Blazing Hell, they discovered, probably while having tea with Orin/Utsuho, that Utsuho gained the power over nuclear fusion from the god of the mountain. This narrows the list down to the confident chessmaster, Kanako Yasaka, and the carefree, happy-go-lucky Suwako Moriya. Guess who the perpetrator was.

Therefore, our heroines fly up to the Moriya shrine to confront the god. In the way there, they found the shrine maiden (Sanae Kotiya), who tried to block their path for no real reason. Apparently Sanae received a power-up for no apparent reason too (similar to Chen) and start beating the crap out of our heroines (in my case)

No, seriously, SANAE IS FRIKKIN HARD FOR NO REAL REASON AT ALL. Same goes for Chen. I mean, Patchy was feeling better in Eosd Extra stage (which I have to post someday), Keine was in her hakutaku form and Kanako is actually easier. But both Chen and Sanae are like suddenly good at danmaku. Hell, Sanae is suddenly better than Kanako at danmaku. Sigh, at least she isn't as hard as Patchy or Keine, since I can capture Sanae's card, with a little of luck, and I can't capture Patchy's last two or Keine's last one (not even with a decent amount of luck). This is by far one of the toughest extra stages I had faced. The patterns involved are pretty hard to pull off. I think EoSD's extra stage beats it only because EoSD's lacks any pattern whatsoever.

However, despite the stage being challenging and fun, the real jewel in this piece of game is the music. Last Remote has to be one of my favorite compositions in the entire series. This and Lullaby of a Demonic Hell are tied in first place for my favorite Stage music. Just hear it. It has a certain feel to it, like if you're arriving to a climax and you're fighting your way up to it as quickly and stylish as possible. Or something like that... is just that awesome. No wonder I asked for a metal remix of this song when I won that one contest.

Speaking of contests, I'm going to give a small trivia in Koishi's video where this video and Koishi's will be involved. No real price actually, but I guess it will be fun. Maybe I can satisfy someone's wish to see me fighting something in any of the Touhou games, like maybe me vs. Suika in IaMP =P

More info about the Touhou series can be found in this wiki page:

P.S: I like how I say Koishi is next and the video ends with Koishi entering from the left side.
