In celebration of the new Turtles movie coming out called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, I thought I would play a TMNT themed game. I use the term celebration loosely, I really did not like the (Michael) Bay turtles despite being a big turtles fan. There were so many problems and annoyances with that film that I don’t hold out much hope for the sequel to be much better particularly since the film maker’s only knowledge of the franchise seems to be the 1987 TV series – there’s been three television shows and a movie since that went off the air. But anyway enough of movies and onto the video games.

This video is a playthrough for the similarly titled 2013 game made by Red Fly Studios and published by Activision for digital distribution on the PC, Xbox 360 and PSN. It’s a 1-4 player action fighting game that’s relatively fun, practically after you start to level up your Turtle and get used to the controls which uses a system similar to batman in Arkham Asylum, just not implemented anywhere near as well with a camera that is too close to the turtle. There’s also invisible walls everywhere, so there is very little room to explore, despite the fact that it looks like you can. It’s a shame, the Ninja Turtles would be so great in a free roaming environment.

This is my walkthrough of the main story mode of the PC version, there is a side scrolling arcade game which is arguably better, but it is a little disbalanced for single player. This is actually my third playthrough, so my Turtles have been levelled up quite a bit.
