My eleventh video of The Impossible Game 2! I have been playing Geometry Dash on and off for about 7 years now and I am currently ranked #70 on the In-Game leaderboard of Geometry Dash as WKGames (an account which I started about 2 years ago). Considering the massive influence GD has had on my life, I felt I should pay some respects to the game that inspired GD: The Impossible Game. The team at FlukeDude Limited has been developing the sequel to this game for about 12 years now and they finally released it on March 4, 2022. I am excited to see the improvements they have made to the original.
In this video I show a complete play-through of the first level of World 3: Lighthouse with checkpoints disabled. This level introduces the multi-cube gimmick where collecting yellow cube power-ups add additional cubes on top of the player cube. Inputs only affect the bottom cube in the stack such as at 1:23 (the top cube doesn't jump while the bottom one does). However, if the top cube manages to survive a jump the others don't, it becomes the new player cube such as at 1:29. This gimmick is very fun and it makes for some interesting, unpredictable gameplay. This level probably has more secret or unintended paths than any other in the game and it makes it a blast to play. Unfortunately, this is probably one of the weakest songs in the game imo, it made this level really boring to practice and play without checkpoints. However, the gameplay is unique enough that I never really got frustrated. While Geometry Dash has its own dual mode that can achieve similar effects to this, there isn't anything quite like this gimmick in GD. The part at 1:52 shows you can stack up to 7 cubes at once and possibly more. I look forward to seeing how this mechanic will be used in future levels.
