In this part we complete the game, earning 100% completion on the save screen, by completing the Palantir of Sauron endgame level while playing as Aragorn!
This, and the Palantir of Saruman, are the 2 endgame 'challenge' levels. There's 20 waves of enemies that come in increasingly difficult types, amounts, and patterns. This level, the Palantir of Sauron, is the more difficult of the two. It is very challenging. I chose to do it as Aragorn. I would have loved to have done it without any of the Cheat Codes that you unlock for beating all of the main story missions, but that would take an incredibly long amount of time to practice and get a lucky run in, and I mostly just wanted to showcase this final level. Plus, the 'cheats' are earned, unlocked, and given to you by the game, so it doesn't really feel inauthentic to use them to complete this level. The only one that I used is the "Health Restore" code, so hopefully that gives you some idea of just how much less health I would have had to have lost to have beaten it without codes. I didn't use Invulnerability, or Infinite Missiles, or anything like that, and I made it to Wave 12 before I used my first Health Restore code. That being said, this gauntlet is incredibly challenging, especially in the later waves, but definitely one of my favorite levels in all of gaming.
