14Art is communication. In order to understand what art means, you must engage with it on the wavelength of the author's intent. Because of this, interpretations are limited to deductive reasoning, based on context clues and references within the work, and inductive reasoning, when relevant parallels to related influences can be inferred to be a cross-reference thematic match. Disco Elysium is an artwork because it speaks to the player on various levels they can understand, curating a unique experience through player choices to create a narrative of the player's choosing. An important note: just because art is tautological in its objectivity does not mean there is always only one interpretation. There can be some leeway with interpretations when ambiguity is present, but only when arguments are made using supported context clues. That which has no deduction cannot be art because it is simply too random to maintain meaning.
