The Quest Resistance 204X

Resistance 204X is a phenomenal game currently in Steam Early Access, with plans to pivot to mobile as well. Incredibly simple to pick up, yet highly addictive to lab, Resistance is similar to Nidhogg and it's "tug of war" gameplay. You must defeat your opponent to "unlock" the screen and race towards the goal, gaining as much ground as possible before they respawn and lock the screen again. The larger your combos, the more of a health bonus you can gain, and every time you "die" it takes longer to respawn.
Controls are simple, with two strengths of attack, jump, and movement. Hold back to block, and simplified special move inputs such as charge motions. This allows the game to be playable without handicapping players behind an execution barrier, while still rewarding people for working inputs into their movement. Although the version we played only had one character, the mirror was a surprisingly complex and rewarding match to play and figure out, and I'm curious to see how additional characters being added will affect this.
