We picked up a version of Animal Crossing for the Japanese gaming region. This 20-year-old cozy game, Dōbutsu no Mori e+, is the updated version of Animal Crossing: Population Growing for Japan. Using an Action Replay disk, an SD GameCube memory card, and the Swiss utility, we were able to boot up a Japanese region GameCube disk and present the game in widescreen. This version adds new features and gameplay along with an extended roster of villagers, bugs, and fish when compared to the U.S. release. Using old gameplay knowledge and some translation tools we fumble our way through the first trials of Tom Nook. This is a bit of condensed gameplay that could help you get going on your adventures in Animal Crossing.
Enjoy!
