The video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution is the third game of the Deus Ex-series. It is a tactical roleplaying game with first person-shooter and stealth elements set in a near dystopian future. In the year 2027 so called augmentations for humans are being introduced. These cyber implants create opportunities for people but come with social problems as well. The game also asks philosophical questions like what it is to be human and about transhumanism. The narrative is strong and well written, the characters convincing.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was developed by Canadian studio Eidos Montréal and published by Square Enix in 2011 (the Director's Cut edition which we will play here in 2013).
The game was very well received and can be seen as an excellent computer game. It scored excellent ratings and was nominated for and received numerous gaming awards.
