A review/critique/retrospective/analysis of CD Projekt's "Hearts of Stone" DLC for The Witcher 3. This DLC is a masterpiece in storytelling while also showcasing a lot of mechanical improvements to the base game's core gameplay, especially with regards to things like combat, economy, and pacing. As a $10 DLC pack with 15-20 hours of content, most of which exceeds the quality of what was present in the base game, Hearts of Stone is one of the best DLC's I've ever played and a must-buy if you haven't already. In fact, I'd almost say it's worth buying The Witcher 3 for the sole purpose of playing Hearts of Stone, which can be played as its own stand-alone campaign, accessed from the main menu.

The first section of this review is intended to be as light on spoilers as possible, but since the main selling point (and main focus) of this DLC is its stories and characters, I can't get into any great detail without completely spoiling the main quest line. I've marked the spoiler section with timeline chapters, and have a bold warning before entering into heavy spoiler territory, so feel free to watch up until that point, but go no further if you're trying to avoid spoilers.
