Theatre Round-up 2020 : Cultural Survival In The Pandemic
A pictorial review of all the theatre I managed to see in 2020, the year of the pandemic. There were a few performances that I was able to see live, sat in an actual theatre, but most had to be watched at home. In 2019 I saw 88 shows, in 2020 I only managed 22 "in person" (as they've started calling them!) performances in all!
A year quite unlike anything I've experienced before and I am so grateful to all the various creatives who managed to produce and present so much inspiring and entertaining work in these most difficult times, when they themselves have also faced great hardship.
There is, as of January 2021, no sign of a return to normality in the arts but I will do what I can to help sustain this vital part of our lives and hope that it will not be too long before I am able once again to sit in an audience and be taken on another wondrous journey.
