12The announcement that there would be ISC No Items Speedruns at Touhou World Cup made me feel like giving this a try again. Got it in a couple hundreds of attempts, including attempts done to get consistent at the spin. Probably around 400-500 in total? Somewhere in that range.
It's possible to use a replay to perform RNG manipulation for the beginning bit. This saves time, since you don't have to keep resetting for a long enough headsit. With a long enough headsit, you get some extra damage, which makes it easier to kill the spell in the time.
The spin is learnable and you can get very consistent at it with some practice. This means that the challenge is actually making it to the spin safely, as well as dealing enough damage by shotgunning from the side to finish off Remi before the 2nd spin begins.
I also have a No Items clear of every scene at this point so that's cool.
