UPDATED EXTRA TIPS:

"Higher grade fields (which you can see in the workbench) will decrease the growing time needed to have a harvest-able plant.

In order to reproduce seeds, for sustainable crops, let the plant grow until the time is done, then pick up the field . Just bag it up with the crop on the plot; this will yield (3) seeds at once, every time. You can then replant those seeds and either "turn" the crop or harvest it for its plant."
