Trek to Yomi pays homage to Akira Kurosawa films with its stunning art direction and presentation, but the game itself fails to thrive under the weight of this vision. It results in a game that's visually cohesive, but confused on what medium it wants to associate with. It's combat is repetitive and relatively unengaging, while it's narrative treads a heavily traveled path. The end result is that Trek to Yomi fails to deliver a great story or a great game, but hey, at least it looks cool.
