Tutorial Description: In this episode of tutorial tuesday, I show you guys how to add a shockwave assets to your projects in after effects. Shockwave assets are a great effect to spice up a static scene in your intro project or motion-graphic project, and can definitely add a lot more production value to your work! I personally use shockwave assets in After Effects to bring more motion to ending titles/names on Intros that I make for other youtubers, so that the end title of the intro does not look boring or dull. The effect is super easy to setup, and is super intuitive. Basically, we add a color key to key out the black background (giving our asset a transparent background) and then we feather that out. Next, we add a nice hue/saturation effect to change up the color and brightness to whatever we may desire, and then finally add a nice glow to tie the effect all together. The final outcome is definitely a lot more impressive than just simply setting the layer to "screen" or "add" blending modes, and can bring a nice pop to the asset!
